- Grants are awarded annually to applicants.
- The only requirement is proof of service and an honorable discharge.
National Youth Achievement Program
- For high school seniors who are direct descendants of members of the Jewish War Veterans organization who joined prior to 2020.
- Applicants must be accepted by an accredited college, university, community college, or hospital school of nursing as a member of the freshman class entering in the fall of the year the student graduates.
The grant recipients are voted upon by the Achievement Committee at JWV’s Annual National Convention, which occurs at the end of August each year. The winners will be posted on our Facebook page after Convention, and notified in mid-September.
Due to the number of applications received, we regret that we cannot contact every applicant to let them know his/her status. Thank you for your understanding.

“I am very honored and grateful to have been selected to receive this year’s Clifford Lee Kristal Education Grant from the Jewish War Veterans of the USA Foundation. This grant will reduce the cost of my undergraduate education and will allow me to save money to pay for future semesters.
I am a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, currently studying political science with a minor in Spanish. I am originally from Skokie, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. Outside of the classroom, I play trumpet in the wind ensemble and the pep band at WashU, and I hope to get involved in Model United Nations as well. After I complete my undergraduate education, I plan to enter law school; I hope to serve as a federal judge in the future.
Thank you so much for making an undergraduate education more attainable for me!”
