Gary Ginsburg
Gary I. Ginsburg has been the JWV National Commander since 12 September 2024 and previously served as the JWV National Vice Commander during 2023 and 2024. He has also served as Department Commander and Post Commander in New York State. He is a life member of both the JWV and the National Museum of American Jewish Military History. He is part of a JWV family tradition that spans three generations in upstate New York.
As the JWV National Commander, he advocates for America’s 18 million veterans, travels across the country, and represents the organization at local, state, and national events. He also leads the JWV effort to counter racism, bigotry, and antisemitism wherever the source and whomever the target. He has motivated and inspired many new members to join the JWV. He educates children about the value of veterans who served our nation in defense of freedom. He meets with elected officials, leaders of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, other veteran service organizations, and leadership of Jewish organizations to promote the priorities of the JWV. He has also begun to address the interest of American veterans residing in Israel.
He serves on the Syracuse University Veterans Advisory Council and is the JWV representative in support of the local city-county Veterans Advisory Committee. In 2017 and 2018, he earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award Gold level for assisting transitioning veterans at four locations: Rochester, Fort Drum, West Point, and Syracuse.
He served four years on active duty in the U.S. Army, both in the United States and overseas, and additionally served honorably for 29 years in the U.S. Army Reserve. His military experience culminated in three assignments as a battalion and brigade-level command sergeant major (CSM) or senior enlisted advisor, including medical, engineering, and personnel services units. He also served in four sergeant major staff assignments before his CSM appointment in 1999. He has earned numerous military and civilian awards and recognition for local, state, and national volunteer service.
He earned a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University and a graduate degree (using his GI Bill educational benefits) from the University of Southern California. Gary Ginsburg resides in Webster, N.Y., near Rochester, N.Y.
National Vice Commander
Scott Stevens
Scott P. Stevens, a member of the Jewish War Veterans (JWV) National Executive Committee (NEC) and Past Commander of the Department of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma (TALO), has dedicated a lifetime of service to JWV since becoming a Life Member in 2012.
Scott has held many leadership positions in JWV. On the National level, be serves on the NEC, the National Action Committee, the National Constitution & Bylaws Committee where he was a key member in performing a total revision of the Constitution and Bylaws, the National Court, the Information Technology Committee and the National Membership Committee where be updated the JWV Membership Application and the Installation Warrant Form. He serves as Chair of the National Convention Credentialing and Registration Committee.
Scott is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Museum of American Jewish Military History. He also has served on its Programs and Exhibits Committee.
Scott served as Department Commander from 2018 to 2020; and prior to that as Department Senior Vice Commander and Department Junior Vice Commander. He was the TALO Membership Committee Chair from 2020 to 2022.
For the Maurice Kubby Post 749 in El Paso, Texas, he has served as the Post Commander four times, Senior Vice Commander twice and Junior Vice Commander.
His military career started in February 1974- as an E-1 and was assigned as a HAWK Missile Battery Launcher Crewman. Over the next seven-plus years he was promoted to Sergeant First Class (E-7).
At 16 years of service, he applied for Warrant Officer and was assigned as a Patriot Missile Tactician/ Technician. Prior to retirement at 30 years, Scott attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, and served as a Brigade Senior Patriot Missile Tactics and Systems Maintenance Trainer/Evaluator.
He has deployed for Operations Desert Shield/Storm and for Operation Enduring Freedom. During a deployment to Israel for Operation Juniper Cobra, he was a member of the 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade assisting in integrating US and IDF Patriot Air and Missiles Defense Systems and US Navy Aegis Missile System for the Tactical Ballistic Missile defense of Israel.
His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal 2nd award, Army Commendation Medal 7th award, Army Achievement Medal 5th award, Valorous Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Scott was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, in 1957. He and Bonny have been married since 1977 (47 years). They have two sons and five grandsons. He is a past Honorary Warrant Officer of the 6th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, past Vice President of the Sun City Chapter of the US Army Warrant Officer Association (1997–1998), and served as President of Congregation Temple Mount Sinai in El Paso, Texas, from 2003 to 2005.

National Executive Director
Ken Greenberg
Kenneth Greenberg is the National Executive Director of the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. (JWV). In that role, he manages JWV headquarters staff, including all administrative operations, leads JWV advocacy and fighting antisemitism efforts and oversees the activities of the National Museum of American Jewish Military History.
Ken serves as JWV’s chief advocate in representing JWV on Capitol Hill, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the White House, focusing on legislative and policy priorities for veterans, service members, their families, caregivers, and survivors. He advances JWV efforts in combating antisemitism by working with and developing partnerships with Jewish community organizations.
Within the Veterans Service Organization community, he provides leadership on veterans and military issues by serving as the Co-Chair of The Military Coalition (TMC) Veterans Committee and Retired Affairs Committee, as well as being the Co-Director of the National Military Veterans Alliance (NMVA). These coalitions are credited with improving and establishing new benefits and health care services, increasing VA and DOD budgets, and preserving existing services and benefits.
Greenberg is also recognized for his leadership of the National Museum of American Jewish Military History (NMAJMH). The museum recognizes, preserves, and commemorates, the service, heroism, and sacrifices of Jewish men and women who contributed to the freedom of America from before the Revolutionary War to present time.
Before joining JWV, Mr. Greenberg served as Policy Director for VetsFirst/United Spinal Association and as Director of Veterans and Military Policy at The Retired Enlisted Association. Previous experience included a distinguished 33-year career at VA, with a proven history of achievements and strategic communications expertise. He received the Secretary’s Distinguished Career Award in January 2013, for significant and outstanding contributions during his VA career. He was appointed to the career Senior Executive Service in 2006 and served as the Executive Secretary to the Department, Office of the Secretary (OSVA) to four Secretaries. Ken’s tenure also included positions in VA’s Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs, the National Cemetery Administration, VHA’s Office of Facilities and Office of General Counsel.
Ken and his wife, Janet, live in the Washington, D.C. area.
