Motions to Achieve JWV Compliance with Articles of Incorporation and Congressional Charter
(a) That in compliance with the Jewish War Veterans (JWV) Articles of Incorporation and JWV Congressional Charter the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America shall be governed by an eleven (11) person Board of Directors.
(b) That a Constitutional Convention will be convened within twelve (12) months of the adoption of this Motion.
Mechanism for Compliance
(a) BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(1) Each Department with over 400 Members as of July 2025 shall select and be entitled to one (1) representative on the Board of Directors, (The July 2025 census stated that CA., Fl., Mass., Mid- Atlantic, N.J., N.Y. and TALO had over 400 Members) =seven (7) seats.
(2) No Department may have more than two (2) Representatives on the Board of Directors emanating from their Department.
(3) The National Commander shall occupy one of the seats on the Board of Directors.
(4) The remaining three positions are “At-Large Seats.” Anyone from any Department may run for an At-Large Seat. But one of the seats will be guaranteed to go to the Member of a Smaller Department (less than 400), who has garnered the most votes among Smaller Department Members.
(5) NVC, JA, and NEC Chair shall serve as Ex Officio Members of the Board of Directors.
(6) The Board (Board of Directors) Members shall serve a two (2) year term.
(7) Upon convening the Board shall select a Chair (President), a Vice-Chair, a Treasurer (Quartermaster), and Secretary (Adjutant) – all serving at the will of their fellow Board Members.
(b) LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
(1) The Leadership Committee shall be charged with the day-to-day running and representation of JWV,
(2) The Leadership Committee shall consist of the NC, NVC, JA, NADJ and any and all others appointed by the Board.
(c) NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
(1) The Members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) are the representative Shareholders/ Stockholders of JWV.
(2) They shall be selected as currently chosen, except for appointees of the NC – who will serve as non-voting members.
(3) They shall have the power to:
(a) Elect three (3) At-Large Board Members in accordance with the other provisions of this
Motion.
(b) Veto the choice and remove any Director for just cause by a 60% vote of those in attend a duly noticed meeting.
(c) Arrange an Annual Convention.
(d) Appoint a nominating committee to present and vet a slate of candidates for the positions of NC and NVC to the Annual Convention.
(e) Retain all other current jurisdictional responsibilities (such as echelon mergers, dissolutions and
naming; maintaining a Manual of Ceremonies; and all other matters not in conflict with the JWV
Articles of Incorporation, New York Law and the authority of the Board of Directors.
That all of the aforedescribed is subject to a Constitutional Convention being called within twelve (12) months of the adoption of this Motion.

The full schedule will be available to registered attendees upon request, included in the welcome packet at check-in, and shared through official convention email communications before the event. Train (Amtrak)
- Amtrak serves Albany‑Rensselaer Station, a major regional rail hub with service from many states (including direct routes from NYC, Boston, and DC).
- From the train station, taxis or rideshares can take you directly to the hotel in about 15‑20 minutes.
- Many attendees find Amtrak to be a comfortable, scenic, and convenient option, especially from the Northeast corridor (NYC/Boston/Washington areas)

Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) Annual Convention is the biggest gathering of Jewish American Military Personnel and veterans in the nation. Hundreds gather from around the country to learn from fellow veterans, to network within the Jewish American military and veteran community and to put their mark on the organization’s legislative agenda.
