Scholarships

The Jewish War Veterans of the USA award each year three educational grants at their Annual National Convention in August to High School seniors, who are direct descendants (children, grand-children and great grand-children) of members in good standing.

The Following Grants are available:

  • Bernard Rotberg Memorial Scholarship Fund: $1000
  • Louis S. Silvey Grant: $750
  • JWV Grant: $500

Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited College or University, be in the upper 25 percent of their class and participated in extra curricular activities at school, as well as the Jewish community.

In addition to grants and scholarships offered by the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the National Museum of American Jewish Military History also offers the following grant:

  • Harvey S. Friedman Annual Memorial Grant

This annual grant of $1000 was created to assist students planning on a career in the museum field. The grant is open to any student enrolled at an accredited college or university working towards a degree (either Bachelors or Masters) or certificate in a museum-related field (e.g. Museum Studies, Museum Education, Arts Administration, etc.). Deadline for submission of applications is December 31, 2009. The grant will be awarded at the NMAJMH's Board of Directors meeting in March, 2010.
