Scholarships

The Jewish War Veterans of the USA award each year three educational grants at their Annual National Convention in August to High School seniors, who are direct descendants (children, grand-children and great grand-children) of members in good standing.

The Following Grants are available:

  • Bernard Rotberg Memorial Scholarship Fund: $1000
  • Louis S. Silvey Grant: $750
  • JWV Grant: $500

Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited College or University, be in the upper 25 percent of their class and participated in extra curricular activities at school, as well as the Jewish community.

National Educational Grant, 2007-2008


In addition to grants and scholarships offered by the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the National Museum of American Jewish Military History also offers the following grant:

  • Harvey S. Friedman Annual Memorial Grant

This annual grant of $1000 was created to assist students planning on a career in the museum field. The National Museum of American Jewish Military History awarded the first annual Harvey S. Friedman Annual Memorial Grant at its Board of Directors meeting on March 7, 2008. The grant was awarded to Carrie Davenport, a graduate student at the George Washington University who plans to receive her Masters Degree in Museum Studies in December, 2008.
