JWV Does Not Consider Armenian Murders Non-Genocide

March 2010

The House Foreign Affairs Committee adopted the Resolution remembering the murder of 1,500,000 Armenians as having been a targeted murder by the Ottoman Turks as genocide.

Medias now report that the Resolution will go no further and, in all probability, will never see the light of day on the floor of the House for a vote.

Truth is once again obscured. Genocide happens to be just one of those things which some feel should not jar our sense of morality. The Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) does not accept such a callous tactic.

The reason for non-action is that we don't want to offend our "ally" Turkey, especially while it shuffles off its secular form of government in favor of the Iranian theocratic form. JWV considers one Iran in the Middle East to be enough - if not, really, too many

While the Resolution does nothing to garner the media attention, the JWV feels that the truth is worth understanding. The past may be gone, but is worth being a lesson in humanity.
