JWV Condemns Collegiate Anti-Israel;Anti-Semitic Hatred

Summer 2007

Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) has condemned the spread of Anti-Israel and Anti-Jewish hatred across America's college campuses. The condemnation was issued by JWV National Commander Bernard Becker. "On campuses today, students are being constantly exposed to vile Jew-haters and enemies of the Jews and Israel" Mr. Becker declared. "At San Francisco State University there was an anti-Jewish riot. The administration did nothing to stop it. At Harvard, a supporter of the homicide bombers is one of the graduation speakers. In Florida a professor who lost his job for his support of Palestinian extremists is being supported by the Faculty as a 'freedom of speech' issue." "Freedom of speech should not be a cloak for those advocating terrorism. Tenure notwithstanding, such persons should not be reinstated," Mr. Becker said. "Administrators at Harvard, San Francisco State and other schools should think hard before allowing this trend to continue. Perhaps they can occupy themselves looking to the East out of their Ivory Towers, searching the Muslim world for a sign of the academic freedoms they enjoy here in America. The real world is not value or judgment free."
