JWV Acknowledges President Karzai’s Demand to Expel US Troops from Afghan Province

Winter 2013

Washington, DC - The Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) acknowledges Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s sudden demand to expel US Special Forces from Wardak Province within the next two weeks, with claims that US Special Forces are causing instability in the province.

As US-led combat forces prepare to withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of 2014, it is the position of JWV that the troops expelled from Wardak Province by President Karzai must immediately return to the United States rather than redeploy elsewhere.

In this time of budget cuts and debates on military spending in the United States, it absolutely makes no sense to keep our military personnel stationed in regions where the local government is extremely hostile to their presence.
