“Disneyland has nothing to do with healthcare”

Spring 2016

The Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV) is appalled and offended by Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald’s trivialization of the long wait times for veterans to see doctors within the VA system. Comparing the experience of veterans waiting to see doctors, in potential life or death situations, with the long lines of Disneyland shows just how out of touch he is with the veteran VA experience.

National Commander Jerry Blum remarked, “Disneyland has nothing to do with healthcare, and veterans, who put their lives on the line, don’t deserve to wait and be compared to something as trifle as amusement park lines.”

JWV hopes that we can move past this unfortunate remark and that we can continue to work together to improve service to veterans from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
