  • The Jewish Veteran

    • Format of magazine will be changing in 2010 to 11x14 newspaper style published 4x/year
    • Will be significant savings in new format and publication schedule
    • Members will continue to see same features in reformatted publication
    • Continue to solicit pictures of Post activities
    • Good quality paper will still allow for a good pictorial image
    • Material for magazine determined by editorial board
    • Material submitted must be original unless written permission is granted by author; pictures from a newspaper cannot be reproduced - must have original picture and permission to reproduce
    • Magazine cannot be distributed solely by e-mail since the bulk of our membership does not have a computer

  • Action

    • There is an underreporting of anti-Semitic incidents - people need to be informed
    • Members from NY and NJ got together recently to protest visit of Iranian president at UN
    • Posts and departments must cooperate with each other to take action
    • When hear of incident, other Posts and Departments must be informed
    • Cannot protest an action as anti-Semitic if it is applied equally to other groups, such as when a certain store does not allow any group to collect funds near it

  • Public Relations

    • Posts must report their activities to local media
    • Important to get word of JWV out by working with greater community
    • Must make the local community aware of what JWV is doing
    • Through PR, a good way for Posts to acquire new members
