Subject: Information Technology
- We should use our technology to increase membership
- Every Post should have a web site
- The National web site should link to all of the Posts
- The JWV Forum is another important way for us to communicate – everybody should go on and start discussions. It’s a fast and an efficient way to communicate in real time
- Social Media
- We are greatly increasing social networking at the National level
- Posts should start employing this technology
- “Like” the JWV Facebook page – maximizing its impact by exposing posts to non-JWV members in our Facebook networks.
- We should increase the number of people using the computer – we should teach them if they’re not comfortable
- Send your email address to the National office – the number of email addresses available at National are low compared to total membership
- We need good, clear communication efforts to the members within our Posts
- Communication needs to go both National down and local up to National
- We need to communicate by both computer and telephone
- On the Post level, have dual communication plans – messages to the entire Post and messages to the most active members
- Computer use reduces cost, but it needs to be combined with things like The Jewish Veteran, Post web sites, emails, and person-to-person outreach
- We need more fill in the blank forms
- National should require every Post commander and Quartermaster to have a generic email address (ex: JWV126@...., JWV126Quartermaster@....), these email addresses should be handed down to the new person holding the position so National always has a way to get in touch with them.
