Subject: NEC - Plans and Preparations

  • National Commander will not testify during NEC period, but on Wednesday, Mar. 16

    • Previous committee chairmen changed the anticipated date of testimony after we had already contracted for hotel space
  • All attendees should make appointments with members of their Congressional delegations
  • New York delegation is meeting with Rep. Peter King to discuss homeland security issues
  • NEC meeting will take place Friday from 1-5 at hotel, and Museum meeting will take place at museum on Saturday from 1-3:30 PM with lunch before meeting
  • Deadline for additions to agenda has passed; NEC will consider only emergency additions at the meeting itself
  • National Executive Director Herb Rosenbleeth announced that suggested talking points for upcoming Capitol Hill Action Days are in their final draft

    • JWV has been working with Rabbi Robinson of JWB to facilitate the building of a monument to Jewish Chaplains who have died in service to be erected in Arlington Cemetery and will include information on the proposed monument in talking points to be posted on our web site and sent to our email list. Congressional Resolutions are S Con Res 4 and H Con Res 12. It is important to ask members of Congressional delegations to co-sponsor these Resolutions.
