Subject: Before NEC/Capitol Hill Day: What to do and expect?

  • NEC Meeting 12-4, Saturday Mar. 8

    • In order to allow meeting to end on schedule, all committee chairman are asked to submit reports in writing ahead of time
    • Several posts are on agenda to be dissolved and/or merged with other posts
  • Capitol Hill Action Day

    • Schedule meetings with as many legislators as you can
    • Packets with legislative priorities are available from National Headquarters
    • Have a series of teams, if possible, to be able to cover more legislators
    • Be sure to get evaluation sheets from meeting back to National Executive Director
  • Congressional Reception will honor Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio who was the chief sponsor of the WWII Memorial and will take place in Cannon Room 334 on Wednesday, Mar. 5, from 5:15-7:15 PM
  • Honoree for Congressional Reception is always vetted with other Jewish and veterans' groups
  • National Commander's testimony will take place on Thursday, Mar. 6, at about 9:30 AM in Cannon Room 345. NC Schulman is scheduled as the second speaker.
  • Dinner Saturday night, Mar. 8, and NMAJMH exhibit to honor 75th anniversary of JWV March Against Nazi Germany and recognize JWV's position among the first groups to recognize rising Hitler terror
