- NEC conference is taking place March 4-8
- Wednesday evening, March 4, is the JWV Congressional Reception honoring Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz of Florida
- National Commander Ira Novoselsky will testify at a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees. The hearing is in Dirksen Room 106 at 9:30 am on Thursday.
- Wednesday and Thursday are Capitol Hill Action Days. Please make an appointment to meet with your Congressional representatives.
- The NEC meeting is on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
- There will be a reception on Saturday night at the NMAJMH.
- JWV's top legislative priority is mandatory/advanced funding for VA health care. It is important that you bring this issue up with your members of Congress.
- Make sure you wear your JWV caps while walking through the halls of Congress. This lets everyone on the Hill know that JWV members are actively involved in fighting for veterans' rights.
- Public relations is local. There is only so much that can be done by National. The posts and departments working in their local communities is the most important part of public relations. Let your local publications know of the activities of your post and department.
