In light of bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers, cemetery desecration, and the rise of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, it is time to act! We need YOUR help to make our voices heard.
JWV has long stood for fighting anti-Semitism, and the concerning increase in threats and vandalism have left American Jews on edge.
Take action in three easy steps. We have provided two templates - all you have to do is fill in the blanks and send!
- Write to your local and state governments and Congressional representatives.
Unsure of how to contact your representatives? GovTrack has a great tool that helps you find your Congresspeople and their websites. Don’t hesitate to also copy and paste the body of the letter in the “Contact” field online!
- Write to the White House. The administration recommends communicating via email, so copy and paste the body of the letter here.
- The third step is up to you. Hold letter writing parties and invite over friends and family, have some snacks, and get writing. Take time out of your next Post meeting to write, address, and mail letters. Share these templates with members of your local community.
As Rabbinic sage Hillel famously said, “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?”
Anti-Semitism has been steadily on the rise, with hate crimes appearing across the country. A clear message must be sent that this behavior will not be tolerated in our country. Our voices must be heard.
