Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America

Foreign Affairs

JWV actively takes part in voicing its opinion on foreign affairs. We will continue to speak out on issues important to Americans and Jews. An example follows.

"With increasing indications that the probability of the participation of American men and women, members of the armed forces of the United States, in military operations sponsored and initiated by the United Nations, we call for the U.S. Congress to examine this issue and to protect the sanctity of American control of forces engaged in any UN/NATO sponsored military action.

Since the capture and treatment of members of military forces is clearly delineated in the Geneva Conventions, Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. (JWV), demand that the President of the United States, as Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces will, henceforth, refuse to permit the men and women of our military services to be controlled by agencies of the United Nations or NATO. Our servicemen and women, when taken prisoner by hostile forces, including terrorist groups, must be categorized as "POWs", thus providing them with the knowledge that the full force of the USA will be used to protect their rights and return them to safety."
